TSC Revised Salary Payment For Primary School Teachers (T-Scale 5)

TSC news(Salary Structures).The new pay scale for Primary Teacher II, Grade-B5, T-Scale 5, has been announced by the Kenya Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

Along with this change, changes have been made to a number of allowances that will have a big effect on primary teachers’ total pay.
Basic Pay for a New Primary Teacher II

New Base Pay and Salary Points

Extra money for Teacher II’s basic pay
In addition to changing teachers’ salaries, the TSC has also changed a number of allowances that will add to their total income. The amounts are broken down below:

Hardship payment: Teachers in this grade under T Scale 5 will now get Ksh 6,600 as a hardship payment.

Payment for Commuting: The payment for commuting has been set at Ksh 4,000.

Amount of Annual Leave: Primary school teachers are eligible for Ksh 4,000 in annual leave.

The amount of money given to people with disabilities as a guide has been set at Ksh 20,000.

These allowances are meant to help teachers do their jobs and understand the different problems and costs they may face while doing their jobs.

The changes to primary school teachers’ pay and benefits should make them happier and more motivated, which will eventually improve the quality of education for all students in the country.

Teachers and people who care about education have accepted these changes as a good step towards recognising how important teachers’ work is and making sure they are paid fairly for it.
