Ruto and Raila Back on drawing Board As high court Delivers Unfriendly ruling On NADCO Report
President William Ruto and former prime minister Raila Odinga drawn back to the drawing board following latest High Court’s ruling on national dialogue committee’s final report.
As relayed by a report covered on Saturday’s standard publication, High Court has has stopped the implementation of the NADCO’s final report pending April’s hearing.
Judge Chepkwony in her ruling ordered the national assembly from discussing or adopting recommendations that were made the Kalonzo Musyoka nd Kimani Ichungwah’s led Dialogue Committee.
Therefore it means that the dialogue report will be worked on after the hearing of the case filed by Mureithi who argues that supreme court scrutinized IEBC servers and found that William Ruto won the 2022 presidential polls.
Therefore, government’s push to have recommendations on reconstitution of IEBC team and elections alongside other proposals will have to wait.
Apparently, this is a major setback for president William Ruto and the veteran opposition leader Mr Odinga who urged MPs to implement the much needed bill.
However, the bill is being opposed by a number of Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Coalition’s affiliated leaders led by DAP Kenya party leader Eugene Wamalwa and Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua. Others are jubilee party secretary general Jeremiah Kioni.
