CS Machogu Sets KCSE Release Date
After days of speculations, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has set release date for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams results.
Machogu announced the results will be made public in the second week of January 2024.
Speaking on Thursday December 28, CS Machogu said the Kenya National examination Council (KNEC) has completed marking the KCSE examinations and is currently compiling, verifying and validating the scores.
The delayed release followed numerous complaints that were raised over the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education ( KCPE) exam results.
A total of 903, 260 students sat for the 2023 KCSE exams which started on October 23 and were completed on November 24.
The 2023 KCSE candidates are set to benefit from the new grading structure which was recommended by the Presidential Working Party, on Education Reforms and unveiled in August.
In the new structure, students will be graded on their performance in Mathematics and any language including English, Kiswahili, or National Sign Language.
Previously, students were graded on seven subjects including English, Kiswahili, mathematics, and two sciences and other technical subjects
