Teachers Service Commission Good News To Retired Teachers

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC), on Wednesday August 18th, asked their retirees to review their status for the pension scheme.

TSC informed retired teachers that the commission had duly processed and submitted pensions to the Ministry of Treasury and Planning for the disbursement of the money.

This means that all the teachers who have retired after the mandatory age of 60 years qualifies for the pensions once processed by the National Treasury.

However, it has emerged that the processing of the pensions by the National Treasury might take sometime and hence the retirees will be required to wait for sometime before they can access their payments.

Usually, the Commission gives a two-year notice to teachers nearing retirement requesting them to submit mandatory documents for processing.

Dr Nancy Macharia has also cautioned teachers not to fall prey to fraudsters who demand cash with fake promises of speeding up payment process since the Commission has streamlined the process
