The ministry of education is currently under the leadership of Hon Ezekiel Machogu as the cabinet secretary. Recently, the government through the ministry announced that students set to join the universities from next month, will apply for government scholarships and loans to further their studies.
The new funding model introduced by the state has ignited mixed reactions from the Kenyans as they have argued that the new model is costly to them.
Bad news have rocked the education ministry as details have emerged that the Members of Parliament (MPs) want the new university funding model be put on hold by the government until all issues raised against the model are addressed.
The decision comes as students are expected to join the universities as from next month for studies while the parents and guardians have raised an alarm against the new funding model.
