Jubilee kicks out Rebel’s

The Jubilee Party has evicted numerous party rebels, including Nelson Dzuya, an Eala lawmaker, Sabina Chege, and Kanini Kega, in an effort to restore party discipline and fortify its ranks.

During the party’s National Delegates Conference on Monday, former lawmakers Jimi Angwenyi, Naomi Shaban, Joshua Kutuny, Mutava Musyimi, and Rachel Nyamai also faced expulsion.

As former President Uhuru Kenyatta hosted the NDC at the Ngong Race Course in Nairobi, these were some of the significant changes that were made in the erstwhile ruling party.

Mr Kenyatta was accompanied by party officials including Jeremiah Kioni (secretary-general) and David Murathe (vice chairman).

The leaders of the party stated their worries about them and accused the individuals of being the cause of internal strife and impediments to the party’s successful pursuit of its objectives.

Jubilee kicks out Rebel’s

Jubilee announced many adjustments within its ranks to address the leadership gap left by the expulsions.

Saitoti Torome, a former Permanent Secretary, was chosen to succeed Mr. Dzuya as National Chairman.

Yasin Noor, a respected party member, was named the deputy secretary-general replacing Mr Kutuny.

Jamleck Kamau succeeded Mr. Kega as the national director of elections in a move intended to strengthen the party’s electoral strategy. It is anticipated that Mr. Kamau’s background in political strategy and grassroots organization would increase the party’s effectiveness in subsequent elections.

Pauline Njoroge, a blogger, was also chosen by Jubilee to serve as its new deputy organizing secretary.

The Women’s League national Cchair was named the rights activist Maison Leshoomo, highlighting the party’s dedication to gender equality and inclusivity.

Amid wrangles over the party’s leadership, a purge of rebels was expected at the meeting that stirred controversy over the past few weeks.

In the face of attacks from Ms. Chege and a section led by Mr. Kega, the NDC gave the former president a chance to establish his influence within the party.

Together, the pair, along with Mr. Kioni, Mr. Murathe, and National Treasurer Kagwe Gichohi, forced Mr. Kenyatta out of the party leadership position.

The rebels had appointed Mr. Kega as the new secretary-general in place of Mr. Kioni and Ms. Chege as the new party leader in place of Mr. Kenyatta.
