Police detaind over defilement
A police officer was detained on Tuesday at the Kapenguria police station in West Pokot on suspicion of defiling a child.
According to a 15-year-old who need care and protection, the cop violated her on May 15, 2023, about 11 p.m.
She informed the cops that this occurred at the station’s dining area.
On May 9, children officers picked up the youngster from a residence and brought her to the station for care and security.
The girl said that the officer called her from the cells, dragged her against her will to the facility’s eating area, and defiled her while wearing a police jacket.
This took place on the station’s dining room floor.
The cop was held after the girl made the allegations for questioning.
Police detaind over defilement
According to authorities, the girl was transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment and future action.
These charges are not brand-new in the service. The police said they are isolated, and those who had been reported had been dealt with.
Others are still being investigated.
Cases of defilement have been on the rise in the country.
Defilement cases stood at 5,530 in 2022, 6,492 in 2021, 6,801 in 2020, 5,297 in 2019 and 4,767 in 2018 while sodomy cases stood at 86 in 2022, 88 in 2021, 54 in 2020, 91 in 2019 and 71 in 2018.
TikToker arrested for sharing sex video with minor
TikToker from Uganda has allegedly been detained for filming himself sexually abusing a young child.
Four days after the incident, the suspect uploaded a video of himself kissing the youngster to social media.
According to police spokesman Fred Enanga, who verified the arrest, the suspect committed the crime within the resort before fleeing to avoid capture. However, he was apprehended in Kitintale, Kampala.
Enanga reported that the lodge attendant was also detained on suspicion of facilitating defilement.
The adolescent departed home in the suspicious boda boda on May 4, 2023, for coaching. When they arrived at Madudu Trading Center, the suspect made up a story to go back home and retrieve his personal belongings, according to the Monitor, a Ugandan daily.
The victim’s mother noticed the video after it became popular online and sparked debate. who subsequently informed the Mubende police station about the incident.
