Ruto is paying Sh40 billion
According to Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, the government is covering the debt incurred as a result of gasoline subsidies under the previous administration.
Speaking on Sunday at an AIC Milimani church service, Nyoro said that the government is now covering Sh40 billion in fuel subsidies left over from the previous administration.

Ruto is currently paying Sh40 billion in subsidies that we received last year, Nyoro continued.
Immediately after taking office in September of last year, President Ruto ended oil subsidies.
However, the decision drew intense criticism, particularly from the Ruto brigade, amid charges that it was rife with corruption.
In order to protect Kenyans from the high cost of living, former President Uhuru Kenyatta provided fuel subsidies.
The program ran from October 2021 until September 2022, when President Ruto succeeded Uhuru after the elections on August 9, 2022.
After Speaker Amason Kingi approved a request from Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, senators launched an investigation into the scheme.
The Senate’s Energy Committee, led by Nyeri Senator Wahome Wamatinga, will now handle the investigation.
In the inquiry, the committee is to establish the criteria that was used in selecting the oil companies that imported the product in the government subsidy programme.
Raila Odinga, leader of the opposition, urged Kenyans on Saturday to speak their truths without fear.
Speaking about the expense of living, Raila warned President William Ruto that not everyone would come up and be honest with him.
