Azimio la Umoja As the world celebrates Mother’s Day, one coalition leader, Raila Odinga, has penned a particular tribute.

 

Raila praised mothers on Sunday, claiming that they are the primary determinants of subsequent generations.

 

“To all the wonderful mothers out there, Happy Mother’s Day! Generations are shaped by your love, courage, and sacrifices, he added.

 

As everyone celebrated Mother’s Day, the ODM party leader also wished all moms blessings.

 

“May your days be filled with blessings and happiness,” stated Raila.

 

Other political figures followed suit by using social media to honor mothers.

When Anna Jarvis led the inaugural Mother’s Day worship service at Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church in Grafton, West Virginia, in 1907, the modern holiday was first observed.

 

Anna Jarvis came up with the idea for Mother’s Day in the United States in 1908, and it was recognized as a national holiday in the country in 1914.
