Murder suspect arrested in homabay 

 

Two suspects were detained in Homa Bay as they traveled to Kericho on what investigators believe to be a murderous mission.

 

The two people who were detained on Saturday are also connected to gang rape and robbery, two violent crimes that have been recorded in Homabay County recently.

 

The pair was apprehended as they were traveling to Kericho County, where it is thought they were hired to perpetrate murder and other atrocities, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

A group of seven people, including Philip Omollo and Dan Kuma, are thought to have broken into a residence in Lala village, Arujo location, Homa Bay County, gang-raped a woman, and then fled with unspecified household goods.

 

When the incident on May 10, 2023 took place, the gang that claimed to have been ordered to kill the family turned to the man of the house and struck him on the head with a blunt weapon, knocking him out cold.

Luckily, the man survived the attack.

The DCI said, “In a related incidence, the gang operating in a similar fashion had on the night of April 23 and 24 entered five homes at Cinema Market in Gem where they gang-raped a woman before making off with household items including TV sets, gas cookers, mobile phones, among other technological goods.

 

Detectives are questioning the suspects while they are in detention about the alleged incidents in preparation for their arraignment in court.

The three, whose names have been suppressed, is allegedly a member of a group that has been intimidating drivers and robbing them of their possessions along the Kenol-Sagana route, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

 

Following extensive neighborhood investigations, the three were taken into custody.

 

Before flushing out the three from their hiding place, police conducted intelligence-led investigations in Makuyu within the Kambiti and Kitini area, according to the DCI.
