My only disappointment with Raila – Duale
Aden Duale, the defence cabinet secretary, has spoken candidly about his one disappointment in Azimio leader Raila Odinga.
The CS asserted in a statement on Wednesday that the former prime minister had consistently engaged in deceitful politics.
Even the current protests, according to Duale, are really a front for Raila to enter politics.
He continued by saying that the ODM leader always forgets who helped him earn the handshake after receiving it.
He brought up the incident from 2018 in which Raila met the president at that time, Uhuru Kenyatta, without the knowledge of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi, or Bungoma senator Moses Wetang’ula.
The three individuals served as the National Super Alliance (Nasa) coalition’s co-principals.
Duale pointed out, however, that if Raila were to gain access to the current administration, he would still desert those who helped him get there.
Demonstrations have served as a ruse for Baba to enter the current administration. The only thing that disappoints me about him is how quickly he forgets about the folks who stood behind him once the “Handshake” table is placed. We observed it when he met Uhuru without Musyoka, Mudavadi, or Wetangula’s knowledge, Duale stated.
“I keep talking about the politics of dishonesty. And, if a handshake occurred—a remote possibility—trust me, he wouldn’t drag anyone along.
Duale worked with Raila in 2007 when he was a member of the ODM party and MP for Dujis constituency.

He had even branded himself as Raila’s chief campaigner in the Northern Kenya region before they fell out following the formation of the Grand Coalition Government with retired president Mwai Kibaki (late).
The excuse given by Defence CS Aden Duale for not inviting former President Uhuru Kenyatta to his book launch has been made public.
Speaking on Wednesday, Duale stated that although they are still friends, he is worried that the former president would scuttle the launch after seeing how he behaved at the Jubilee party offices.
Duale, though, promised to give the former president a copy of the book.
