Registrar of Political Parties Drops Bombshell Statement On Uhuru -Sabina Chege wrangles.

Registrar of Political Parties Anne Nderitu has stated that she has not been officially informed about the purported removal of former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta as Jubilee party leader.

On Tuesday, a rival faction within the Jubilee party, led by EALA MP Kanini Kega, announced Uhuru’s removal and his replacement with nominated MP Sabina Chege. However, Nderitu has confirmed that the faction has not written to her office about the changes, indicating that Uhuru remains the bonafide party boss.

Nderitu added that unless both parties file to her office for determination, it is premature to discuss the leadership wrangles that have affected the party since the August 9, 2022 polls. She also stated that she is unable to determine whether the purported removal followed the party constitution since no documents have been filed with her office.

The registrar stressed that any discussion or action should be done through the party constitution and required the rival faction to submit relevant documents to prove that they followed the constitution in removing Uhuru.

The removal of Uhuru as the Jubilee party leader marked the culmination of the leadership wrangles that have rocked the once-powerful political outfit. The rival faction has been leaning towards President William Ruto, and its move to replace Uhuru with Sabina Chege came as a surprise to many.

The leadership wrangles within the Jubilee party have been ongoing since the 2017 elections, with tensions escalating after the 2022 polls. The party has been struggling to maintain unity and cohesion, with various factions jostling for control. The latest move by the rival faction has further complicated matters within the party, with many calling for urgent interventions to address the leadership crisis.
