Grade seven learners who are the first cohort of the Competency based Curriculum (CBC) transited to Junior Secondary Schools on 30th January 2023 to have their new level of academic Journey.
Learners in Junior Secondary Schools have been facing myriad of challenges starting from lack of enough teachers as report reveals that most Junior Secondary Schools have only one teacher to teach 14 subjects.
According to the reports that have been shared by reputable sources of information, it has been revealed that most Junior Secondary Schools lack enough textbooks this makes learning activity unsuccessful.
The good news to learners in Junior Secondary Schools is that the government of Kenya through the ministry of education has disbursed Ksh9.6 billion to Junior Secondary Schools ahead of schools reopening.
Speaking during Kenya Education Management Institute’s (KEMI) 7th graduation ceremony at Jamhuri High School grounds in Nairobi, embattled Education Cabinet Secretary Hon. Ezekiel Machogu disclosed that the Government have disbursed Ksh9.6 billion to Junior Secondary Schools, adding that school heads should use the disbursements prudently.
This is now a sigh of relief to Junior Secondary School Learners who have been facing different challenges.
