KUCCPS Reveals University Entry Grade For 2022 KCSE Candidates.

KUCCPS Reveals University Entry Grade For 2022 KCSE Candidates.

KUCCPS CEO Agnes Wahome made the revelations while appearing before MPs.

After weeks of speculation on who will qualify for admission to the university, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has revealed that all with C Plus will qualify.

KUCCPS CEO Agnes Wahome while appearing before MPs revealed that there is enough capacity to accommodate all those who scored C plus and above.

She told MPs the public institutions have an available capacity of 194,000.

All students who score above C Plus will get admission to the university since we have enough capacity,”  she said.

In the 2022 KCSE exams,  173,000 students scored grade C plus and above and are now eligible for government sponsorship.

She spoke while appearing before Public Investments Committee on Education and Governance.

The portal for application and revision of courses is however yet to be opened. Once opened students will be able to revise the courses they applied for.

However, the posting of students in private universities is unlikely to happen this time round.

Wahome asked Parliament for protection on implementing the same.

“We commit that if you give directive we will implement but we ask for protection from Parliament,” Wahome said.

MPs assured the KUCCPS CEO of protection as they implement the policy of accommodating all students in public institutions.

“You are covered by the law and we will die with you. We will start working on the systems to ensure that policy is reversed,” Wamboka said.
