Breaking; Raila And Ruto Suspend Bipartisan Talks, Here Is Why .
Azimio La Umoja and Kenya Kwanza’s bipartisan team, on Tuesday, April 25, suspended their dialogue over a stalemate.
In a statement issued by Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo, Azimio indicated that it had failed to reach a consensus with Kenya Kwanza on removing MPs Adan Keynan (Eldas) and David Pkosing (Pokot South).
The Rarienda Constituency Member of Parliament Honourable Otiende Amollo noted that the two members of Parliament Adan Keynan from Eldas) and David Pkosing from Pokot South Constituency had the options of withdrawing from the talks.
The parties had two options regarding the membership of Keynan and Pkosing in the bipartisan team: either withdraw their objections and allow them to continue, or have Azimio’s Raila Odinga and President William Ruto withdraw one of the MPs.
However, talks were suspended due to the stalemate and lack of consensus or position changes. Amollo clarified that Keynan was not a Jubilee member, but a vice-chair of Azimio Coalition, and there were no principle issues with Pkosing as he was a member of the KUP Party that signed a pre-election agreement with Azimio.
Kenya Kwanza had agreed to accommodate Azimio’s demands and engage their principals regarding Keynan’s inclusion. They had also agreed to establish a secretariat led by lawyer Paul Mwangi.
