Ruto’s Education CS Prof Machogu Under Fire After Misuse Of Sh 800M ,Spends 2M On Salt Only .
President William Samoei Ruto’s Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Dr. Ezekiel Machogu is under fire after Kenyans ganged up against him. This comes after the CS misused Sh800 million public money, spending Sh2 million on salt only.
During his breakdown, Machogu said that Sh457 million was spent on buying rice
Ũko, Sh115 million on beans while Sh43 million on vegetable oil. In addition, the soft spoken CS said that Sh2 million was used to buy salt.
“It compromises of rice worth Ksh457 million, beans worth Ksh115 million, vegetable oil worth Ksh43 million and salt worth Ksh2 million for the last one month in the ten counties,” he told the committee during his grilling at the Senate Chambers.
Even after breaking down this, many legislators put him on spot, asked him about the schools where those listed items were taken.
am also very sceptical because your list does not show if the schools got the food, this is a list showing the requirements of the school, can you tell us where the taxpayers’ money has gone,” Nominated Senator Peris Tobiko asked.
“All the Senators have said that this program is not in their counties, you are insisting it is happening, but we are not seeing it on the ground, where is it?” she added.
Angry Kenyans were not left behind either as they ganged up against the new education CS. Some said they were busy looking for ways to recover their campaign money while others regretted voting for Ruto’s government.
